The Good Neighbor Community Health Center

WHAT WE'RE ABOUT

As a resident of our service area, you are fortunate to have a healthcare safety net available --- the Good Neighbor Community Health Center, which is a separate non-profit organization housed within the East-Central District Health Department. Community Health Centers provide affordable, accessible, quality, comprehensive dental care to the individuals we serve. The Good Neighbor Community Health Center is one of more than 1,000 Community Health Centers located nationally. As a safety net provider we target medically underserved and underinsured populations. We also provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services to the population we serve. The GNCHC provides family medical care, mental and dental health services.

In July of 2006 we began to provide dental services in our community to include a comprehensive oral education program, dental screening, and general dentistry.  These services are being provided in collaboration with the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) Dental College.

Good Neighbor Community Health Center, like all health centers is held to strict federal scrutiny on the quality and cost-effectiveness of our services. This results in your community health center providing quality, comprehensive dental care to our patients at a very affordable price. In addition to federal scrutiny we have a collaborative relationship with the UNMC dental college to assure that we are using the most up to date practice standards.

The mission of the Good Neighbor Community Health Center is to work in collaboration with the community to increase access to primary preventative health care in order to improve the health of the underserved and vulnerable population.

SERVICES OFFERED

As a community health center we offer basic general dentistry services to our patients. We provide X-rays if necessary, and oral care advice is available from a dentist, dental student or dental hygiene student at one location.
